Afternoon Tour
On our Afternoon Tour, we take you to the very end of the Lauterbrunnen valley—a secret spot known mostly to locals. While this gravel road is closed to the public, our special permission allows us to drive you straight into this stunning wilderness called Trachsellauenen. The valley is so rugged that winter avalanches crash down from all sides, and the towering mountains block out the sun for months. In summer, however, a few resilient farmers live here with their goats and cows to produce traditional milk and cheese.
On our way back, we stop at the famous Basejump landing area in Stechelberg. If you are lucky, you will see basejumpers free-falling from the massive cliffs before deploying their parachutes at the last moment. The Lauterbrunnen valley is world-famous for this sport, with over 30,000 jumps recorded every year. From here, you can also spot the steepest cable car in the world heading up to the cliffside village of Mürren.
Just two kilometers down the road, we visit the Trümmelbach Falls—spectacular waterfalls carved deep inside the mountain. Watching the immense power of the water shaping these ancient stone pools is truly unforgettable.
Leaving the valley, we drive up to Habkern, an unspoiled farming village filled with traditional Swiss chalets that are centuries old.
Our route continues along narrow country roads toward Beatenberg, the famous launching point for paragliders heading down to Interlaken. The panoramic views from here are breathtaking, and you are almost guaranteed a close encounter with local Swiss cows—you will be surprised how strong their tongues are when eating from your hand!
We finish the tour with a final stop by the lake. You can choose to end your trip here to enjoy dinner by the water and watch the sunset, or ride back to Interlaken with us.
The route
What if it Rains?
The Alps are unpredictable, but rain doesn’t mean a wasted day. Your guide adjusts the route to places that are even more impressive in stormy weather:
Waterfalls at full force after the rain
Atmospheric valleys and misty forests
Flexible stops that keep the adventure alive
Only in case of very low clouds do we switch to a Rainy-Day Tour.
A single rain symbol in the forecast usually means a passing shower — the normal tour still runs.
