Description

Experience Switzerland Differently – With Our Guided Bus Tours

On our Afternoon Tour we take you to the very end of the Lauterbrunnen valley, a secret spot only locals go. The gravel road is closed to the public, but we have a special permission to take you to this stunning place called Trachsellauenen. It is so deep in the wild, that you can’t live there. In winter there are avalanches coming down from all sides making it too dangerous to be here and the mountains are so steep that there is no sunshine there for several months! In summer there are a handful of hardy farmers with a few goats and cows, producing milk and cheese.

On our way back we stop in Stechelberg, where you might get lucky and see a base jumper free falling towards you before deploying his parachute at the last moment. The Lauterbrunnen valley is world famous for base jumping, more than 30’000 jumps are done each year here from these immense cliffs. Also from Stechelberg, the steepest cable car in the world goes up to Mürren, a beautiful village hidden above the cliffs.

Just a few hundred meters further down the valley we stop at Trümmelbachfalls, the famous waterfalls inside the mountain. Here the power of water has shaped a gorge so deep you can’t see the sky, with huge waterfalls and beautiful round pools.

Once leaving the Lauterbrunnen valley we cross through Interlaken, and then up to the farming village of Habkern, home to some typical wooden Swiss chalets that are a few hundred years old and still inhabited.

We drive along narrow roads, surrounded by farmland and forests, towards the town of Beatenberg. Along the way we see the paragliders taking off from the hilltops, starting their flights towards Interlaken. The views from Beatenberg are stunning, with the high mountains, the lakes, and the green valley all visible together. We usually come face to face with some famous Swiss cows, time for a selfie!

After driving down from Beatenberg, we make a final stop by Lake Thun. If you want to have dinner by the lake and watch the sunset you can end your tour there, or you can come with us back to Interlaken.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you follow a fixed route?

Yes and no. We have a plan, but we might do small changes when it should be to crowded somewhere, we don't want to waist your time and queue in line, there are many other amazing places to visit instead. Simply trust us, we are locals and know when to go where.

Where do the tours start and end?

We offer convenient pick-up and drop-off point at the Ost and West Train Station in Interlaken.

What should I bring?

We recommend:

  • Comfortable shoes for walking

  • Weather-appropriate clothing (layers)

  • A refillable water bottle

  • Camera or smartphone for photos

  • Small snacks if needed

    In summer: sunscreen & hat

In cooler months: gloves & warm jacket

Is food included?

Meals are not included, but we have free soft drinks in our onboard fridge.

What happens in bad weather?

On most days it makes sence to do our planned morning or afternoon tour, even if there might be a rain shower once. If we have very low cloudbase and all mountains are stock in the clouds so we have no good views, we will do our "rainy weather" tour where we visit places that still amaze you without perfect weather. Since the weather is sometimes hard to forcast here, we will not decide in advance where we go.

Is there a toilet on the bus?

No, but we plan regular stops where restrooms are available.

Can I book a private tour?

Yes! We offer fully private tours for individuals, couples, families, or groups. Let us know your preferred date and group size, and we’ll create a custom offer.

What languages do you offer?

All tours are available in English. German and other languages may be available on request—please ask when booking.

What happens if the tour gets canceled because the minimum of 4 people is not reached?

Then of course you get refunded.
